Did you know that the Constitutional Convention was mostly about protecting State Sovereignty and thereby the Liberty of the People from the newly proposed National Government? No? Then you don't fully realize the protection afforded to the States and it's Citizens.
At the beginning of this nation the States were, and were meant to be still, the main source of governmental authority in this nation not the national government!
But that being true, States don't have Rights, only Individuals do!
States, and the National Government have POWERS and those powers are "loaned" to them by whom? Yes, the People!
The People ALONE have RIGHTS, the Government, be it State or National, has ONLY Delegated Powers, NOT Rights, and that is only because WE loan it to them by consent!
We can therefore as the Sovereigns of a State, delegate to our State Officials the RIGHT to Recall elected citizens of our State that over-step their Constitutional Authority, (no lawmaker is above the law), in regard to State Sovereignty and the Liberty of the People! So is it beginning to come into focus now?
